How do you know when a previously damp wall is ready for plastering?
Before replastering, the moisture source should be addressed and any damaged material assessed. The wall may need time to dry, while residual salts can continue to attract moisture and affect ordinary finishes. There is no single drying period that suits every wall; construction, exposure, and the original problem matter. Follow the repair specification and check the substrate rather than covering active damp.
